Giddy up

My kids love this rocking horse given by my friend Katie. I think they like it a little to much that they end up fighting over it.

What a nice surprise!!!

I was very surprised to have this arrive at my door. My sweet husband decided to send a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I always like these surprises. I almost got two bouquets of flowers because the same order got sent to different places, but we only paid for one order so that is all we got.

The things I can do with a ball.

Carter loves getting balls and throwing them were ever he can. He lately has been trying to throw them on the stove. He was getting frustrated because he could not keep this ball on the stove since it was to big. I am not sure I like this idea.

Bailey doing a little stretching

Bailey lately loves getting on her pink ball and stretching like this. It looks like she is doing a little yoga.

A computer casualty by a two year old

I have learned a great valuable lesson to not have computer in arms reach of a two year old. I was reading a book to Bailey in her bedroom and came out in the living room to check on Carter to see that he removed all the keys off the keyboard. I called to tell Jared and he just laughed supposing that we could fix it by attaching each key back on the computer. We were surprised when this was not the case. We ended up having to order a key board online and then have a repair shop put it on. It only took almost a week. This will be something that we can look back on and laugh at.

Some things to know about Jared.

I always thought it was cool to look back on things that I wrote about myself at the time and be able to look back see how my interests and ideas have changed. Here is a few tid bits about Jared, who I love so dearly.

What is one thing on your bucket list you would like to accomplish?

I would like to go on a couples mission with my wife.

If you go anywhere where would it be?

I would like to go to Jerusalem to be were Christ was.

What is one of the greatest things that have happened in your life?

I would say that I had the privilege to meet and marry my wife Krista and also being able to have my two kids Bailey and Carter.

What are you really good at?

I pride myself I think in being a good father and husband.

What are you listening to these days?

I love listening to Bobby Darin, Mike Buble, & Frank Sinatra

In your opinion what is one of World’s biggest problem?

I think it is World hunger.

If you had one word to describe yourself what would it be?

Humble

Where is the ball going to go?

The last month or so Carter has loved getting these little tiny balls that he can roll on the table and see where they are going to go. It is so cute to see his little eyes looking over the table in anticipation of what will happen to the ball. Bailey wanted to join in the festivities. She kept talking in the third by saying, "Go job Bailey." It is nice to see what good friends they have become as they play together.

Carter mopping

Jared is giving Carter a lesson in mopping. He loves getting a hold of the mop when Jared is mopping the floor. I didn't know that chores could be so fun. I am hoping that he will be this enthusiastic when he is older.

Basket ball tournament

Jared loves the game of Basketball. It brings many memories back of playing with his family and having just a good old time. He gets really excited about this time of year when he can play some Church ball. Today was the tournaments against the other wards in the Stake. The first game they played they won the score was 67 t0 43 and the second game they did not get so luckily the score was 57 to 42.

Playing around

They really got a kick out of Jared jumping on the bed as they eagerly awaited for him to come in and surprise them every time.

Nice company

They surprised us and took us to our favorite Restaurant Red Robin before they left to go home.

It was really nice to have Jared's parents here for the weekend. We really enjoyed playing games and catching up. It was also fun throwing a surprise Birthday party for Marilyn. I am really lucky to have good in-laws that make family a priority and really enjoy their grandkids. Bailey and Carter loved having them play with them and read to them. Bailey kept asking every time they left when they were going to come back. She would say, "I need grandpa and grandma." It was a bit sad to see them leave, but we know that we will see them real soon.

He thought he was pretty cool.

This is the walker that Bailey got him she was first learning how to walk. Carter decided that he was going to use it for a seat as well.

Valentines Day

I told Jared not to get me anything because we are getting family pictures done on Friday, but he surprised me anyways with a nice rose and some chocolates.
I was excited to surprise Jared with some of his favorite treats on Valentines.
I made these cute heart shaped cookies for the gals I visit teach and also for Kayla and Tracy.

Valentine Fun

Essie had a little fun with the stamp set. She needed bright red lips.
Sam came over and help me make cute Valentines from the kids. Bailey and Carter both made one for their dad that said, "You are the most handsome daddy I know."

Tackle time!

What a wrestling match. I think Jared has been beaten. Fun times!!

Bailey went in the potty.

We were so excited that Bailey went in the actual potty that we had to reward her with some chocolate. We must be parents to feel the joys of these little mile stones.

Decor update

Sam was nice enough to come over and help me modge podge this picture of Christ on one of the bottom doors from my entertainment center. All I had to do was sand down the door, repaint it the color I wanted, and then add the picture with modge podge. It was so easy and now I have a nice picture of Christ.
It was my luckily day!! Kari my sister gave me her entertainment center that she had been give from a doctors house when she was cleaning houses. It is very durable and is made from natural would with a stain wash on it. She must love me because there was no cost on my part, except for transporting it from Twin to Middleton.

Potty Training

Bailey lately has been saying lately that she needs to go potty once or twice a day. She still does not understand how to take down or pull up her pants. This is going to be a work in progress.

Tackling dad

Whenever Jared lays on the floor this is what happens. They must think he is ready to wrestle.

Carter caught in the act.

I know you wouldn't believe it, but Carter is up on the crib trying to take off some of the vinyl circles that I have put up on his wall closest to the crib. I think he has taken off about a 4th of the circles mainly from his white bench. I mainly only have vinyl circles up, but will show you what his room looks like when I am done decorating it in the next month.

Bailey is looking very studious

It was hard not to laugh as Bailey kept trying to cross her leg to be able to read her book. So precious!!!

Bailey finally got in.

I got a call back from ICU were a gal in my ward goes to become a Speech Therapist. She is actually the one that told me about this program were they do clinicals and have to get so many hours with kids that have speech problems. I called a week ago and did not hear anything until this week, so I didn't think Bailey would get in especially when you hear so many nos you start doubting if this is going to be another one. They told me that they had an opening and it will take a couple weeks to evaluate her and then they will write up a plan to best help her. We start tomorrow. Wish us luck.

Way too smart for his own good!!!

Carter can now push the kitchen chairs to the fridge, open doors, and climb up on our bed. He is way to clever and smart for his own good. I call him my curious little monkey.

What a good big sister.

Bailey was really concerned that Carter got his sippy. She will actually go and find his sippy at times to give to him.

Buddies

They have really become good buddies. They will sometimes sit like this when watching a movie or reading a book.

A good spot for hide and seek.

My kids love getting into this corner hutch in my kitchen that my grandpa made for and hide. You can kind of tell that Carter is trying to close the doors to the cabinet. I will hear them talking in there when the doors are shut. Funny kids!!

Carter attempting to potty train.

We have been trying with little success to potty train Bailey on her little potty. It would help though it she understood how to pull down her pants, which she just gets frustrated every time we attempt to have her do it herself. She gets that fact that you need to sit on the toilet without a diaper even though nothing has happened so far. Well Carter has been observing this and decided that he wanted to sit on the potty. He ended up sitting there for a couple of minutes. Maybe he will get potty trained and will help Bailey want too. I will try and not get my hopes up.

It may not work, but I am still going to ride it.

This picture is so funny, because Carter would not look at the camera so Bethany made him.

We had Reed and Christine over a game night and the kids love this little John Deer car. The batter does not work, but they don't care they just scoot it around the carpet with their legs.

A braided hair band.

This is just another cute idea, again from Pinterest, one of my most favorite sites. All I did was take a section of Bailey's hair and braid it and then pin it down in the other direction so it looks like a braided hair band. So cute!!!

Bailey sure loves the vacuum.

I can sort of be a clean freak, because I like the house straight before I go to bed and at least once through out the day, so I usually vacuum once in the morning and once at night. Bailey has really come to love the vacuum and requests that I bring it out all times. She actually calls it a baboom. It is funny because when I go back and forth with the vacuum she will do the same thing. I am thinking this will be a Christmas or Birthday gift.

I found the mop and a new hide out.

Carter loves playing with the mop when we are trying to mop the floors. We have pretty much kept it hidden, but not now.

Oh, only if I were tall.

My smart kids used this chair to reach the top half of the fridge which they otherwise would have not been able to reach.

Having a party

While I was making cookies I was entertained as the kids and Tracy and Kayla sang a number of songs.

Tracy's famous cookies

I was so excited for Tracy to come over to help me perfect her chocolate chip cookies. I had made them several times and they have not quite turned out the way hers have. We figured out that I was not using the right oats and that I need to adjust the time for just a minute less. These cookies are the best. They are so soft and chewy and yummy. Thanks Tracy!!! :)
