Halloween night

It was fun taking the kids out trick or treating. Bailey was really getting
the hang of it. She really liked being able to walk from house to house
picking out her own treats. She didn't really get down the part of saying
trick or treat, but she told everyone goodbye as she left. Carter was really
content just sitting in the stroller while we went. How easy for him! All he
had to do is look cute and he got a piece of candy.

October festives at Grandpa & Grandma Owens house

It was nice to go down for Nick's Farewell and be able to say goodbye to him
until we see him again in two years. He will be a good missionary! It was also
the weekend before Halloween so we had a family Halloween party. My mother in law made some very good home made clam chowder. She also made some cookies for the kids to decorate and they also got to fish for prices. Carter was so tuckered out! Bailey and him stayed up the night before until 1 am. We were trying to keep them up without a nap so they would sleep the following night. They were cranky, but we had no trouble getting them to go to bed.

The famous ghost!

Poor little ghost!

It was so funny to watch them throw down this ghost.
I think that they really liked it because it was just there size.
What fun!

Apples and more Apples

We have made it a yearly tradition to go and get fruit at the Orchard.
The weather was nice and the apples were nice and huge. It was fun for
our kids because they got to play in a big backyard were they got to eat
some apples and help out a little bit. Bailey liked getting the apples that had
fallen from the tree and Carter liked sorting the apples by throwing them on
the ground and transferring them from one box to another. We were able to get about three boxes and five bag fulls. This batch we made 32 quarters. We would have made more but our apple slicer gave out on us. So we gave the rest to family.

couch baby

We have this divider in our couch that opens up.
We have not had much use for it, but Carter likes
to get in here and sit.

What cute hair

I have always had a fascination to do hair from a
young girl on. It has been really fun to think of different
ways to make Bailey's hair look cute, and the only way
to get this way is to distract her with a movie. I love it!

What a good aunt

This is an all time favorite. They love to be chased around
the couch. What a fun aunt!

Good habits

Carter and Bailey get really excited when we tell them
it is time to brush their teeth. I think they
really like the taste of the toothpaste because they
seem to want more once it is gone.
Here is to hoping that they don't have has
many problems as I do with my teeth.

What fun!

We were at Christine's house while I watched Bethany and Martin.
Carter thought this was something that he could climb into and sit.
It must be a boy thing because Bailey never climbed this much.

That purple hat

Carter just loves this hat. He will come and have us
put this hat on him and then he will twirl around in
circles and dance around. Thanks for the gift Kari.

Carter saying Thank you

We have been trying really hard to make sure that they
have manners by saying 'Thank you' and 'Please' when they
have gotten something. I love his little husky voice when
he says 'Thank you'. He sounds so grown up.

My little dancers

Anytime any music is on they will start dancing. I thought it
was so cute to see them dance. I really think that they love
music like Jared and I do. I am hoping to put Bailey in Dance
next fall.

Here is to hoping

Yeah, I think that I got to excited about him taking a Sippy. I guess last night was a fluke because he would hardly take it today or tonight. I still have hope that he will transition to a Sippy. I don't know of any young kids that go to school with a Sippy.

Over haul

It took me most of August to paint my whole house, except for Carter and Bailey's rooms that I did at the end of April and beginning of May. Yeah, call me crazy. I have been itching to want to do something with my house for the longest time. I felt like my house was very enclosed. It was painted in a tan brown including the ceilings, which are now white. It now not only looks brighter, but bigger. I know get the fun privilege of being able to decorate it now. There will be more pictures to come.

I put this carpet throughout the whole house. It is called Knockout Carmel. It is an inner mixed weave of some light browns, dark browns and tans. I love it!

You can't even tell that this color is creamy white. I did this color in the living room, laundry room, hallways, part of the kitchen, the bathroom in between Bailey and Carter's rooms, and the hall closets.

I put the color Silver Fox in my room. It has a lot of blue hues in it. You can't see that though.

This color Toffee crunch is on my accent walls in my kitchen. You are not able to see the color as well. It has a lot of brown and green hues in it. It actually resembles the color of the text of this blog.

I love this picture! This is right above my entertainment center in my living room.

The hair bow flower

Bailey is so funny! I had out one of Bailey's cute hair bows that Sam made. She kept saying what a fretty flower it was. I tried to tell her that it was a hair bow for her hair, but to her it was her flower.

No more bottle

I can successfully say that Carter is officially off the bottle. I knew that I probably should have winged him off of it when he had turned one, but it was so much easier to just let him have it. I finally decided that he was getting too big to be walking around with a bottle. A couple of weeks ago I got him his own little Toy Story Sippy just for him and the first week was a battle. I was starting to wonder if it was actually going to work. He would scream for 45 minutes to an hour and he was crying so hard that he would start choking. I finally went in and rocked him to sleep almost every night that week. He finally stopped. Yay! I kept being optimistic that it wouldn't take him that long to transition since Bailey only took a day in half. Yeah, not so. He was not crying at night, but he would not take it most of the day except for a few gulps. I guess trying to do this the same time that he has been cutting teeth is not very ideal. I just did not know this was happening until afterwards and did not want to start over. I am glad that I did not give in, because tonight he couldn't get enough of his Sippy he ended up drinking two Sippys. Yay! I just hope it lasts.

Bailey's little world

Bailey is so cute when she plays make believe.
When she plays she always uses Carter and
Hannah's name ( from Toy Story).
I just wish I understood what else she was
saying.

My book worm

Carter loves to be read to. I will be doing something and he will go in and get a book and bring it in and demand that I read it to him then. His two favorite books are 'Peekaboo Baby' and 'What? Slide N' Peek'. When we get done reading the Slide N' Peek book I usually say, "Yeah" and he claps his hands out of excitement and he wants me to read it to him over and over again. When we read the other book he will imitate the sound of the cow and the horse. It is so cute! I love reading to him and knowing that he maybe learning something new.

New teeth

Okay, this is not the best picture of Carter. I didn't now how else to get a picture of the new teeth that are coming in on top. He looks like a little vampire. He will now have four teeth on top and two on bottom. And oh boy, I can tell that they are coming in because he is so cranky. I can hardly get anything done since he wants to be held constantly and is very fussy. It will be nice when this phase passes. I finally had to put him in his crib this morning to get anything done. I felt bad, but I knew that needed to focus on the task at hand and not get frustrated with him while doing that. I guess moms need a time out every once in a while also. I also have been trying really hard to get to things on time and have not been able to since I have been stopping every few seconds to console him. I eventually did get to the mother baby circle 5 to 10 minutes late. On the bright side that is better than later.

Great friends

What great friends! They are only 5 months apart which you wouldn't know because they look the same size and are about the same height. It has been fun to see them follow each other around and occasionally share a toy or two.

Bailey feeding Carter popcorn

Bailey wanted to make sure that Carter is taken
care of as she fed him popcorn. This is not always the
case, because usually she likes to sit on him, or push
him down. It is nice to see times like this when she wants
to take care of him.

what fun

What entertainment! Carter is having a ball
playing with this toy.
